ESP-01 & ESP-03 Breadboard Breakout

Provides voltage regulation and switches to enter programming mode (over FTDI or serial UART).

Goal

Provide a simple-to-use programmer for ESP8266 modules similar to Adafruit Huzzah ESP8266 module.

Usage:

Solder all components on, including your choice of ESP-01 or ESP-03. Insert UART connection into header at end of board. S1 will reset the board. To program board, hold S2 while hitting S1. S3 will select between 3.3V and 5V input on Vin (towards the ESP module is 5V).

Components:

U1 can take either castellated SMD pads (ESP-03) or a 2x4 .1" pitch female header (ESP-01).

R1-R4 = 10k 0603, R5 = 1k 0603.

C1&C3 = 10uF 0805, C2 = 0.1uF 0603.

LED1 = LTST-C190KFKT Orange 0603 LED.

U2 = LD1117AS33 3.3V 1A Voltage Regulator.

S1-S2 = KMR221NG LFS pushbutton momentary SPST switch. S3 = PCM12SM SPDT slide switch.

DIP Breakout board for CYBLE-022001-00 BLE Module

This project uses the Analog Devices AD9951 DDS chip to create a NCO/VFO.

All components have been thoroughly documented within their properties to include vendor, vendor part number, and approximate cost.

The Teensy Audio library now officially supports S/PDIF output. WAV File Player Example (in Arduino: File > Examples > Audio > WavFilePlayer) has been updated to show how to use it.

The S/PDIF output object is now available in the Audio System Design Tool, so you can easily create arbitrarily complex audio projects with digital S/PDIF output.

The S/PDIF signal is output on pin 22. An inexpensive connector (Digikey 1080-1434-ND), or simply a red LED, can be used to couple the digital audio to an optical TOSLINK cable! Resistors and a small transformer can also be used, for non-optical RCA connector S/PDIF.

Simple breakout board for the ESP8266 chip to provide wifi capability to the Teensy 3.1. Designed to take power from VIN via USB or LiPo battery and convert to 3V3 with a TLV7333 300 mA voltage regulator. Also on board is a Macronix 4 Mbit MX254006E SPI Flash memory chip. Small rgb led indicates power on, pcb antenna matched to 2.4 GHz. Can use either 26 or 40 MHz Seiko Epson crystal. The board has the same eight pins as the cheap Chinese modules as a first cut to see how hard it is to add wifi to Teensy 3.1 projects. The board is designed to solder directly on top of the Teensy just above the USB plug. Added led on TX, broke out five more GPIO pins including SPI port.

For testing I2C, SPI, UART, USART, USB and LCD.
