this project uses surface to surface soldering extensively.

the opening in the board is used to solder 2 together making a link of the chain.

for every 2 boards, it is one link in the chain.

120 boards is about the correct amount for a reasonable sized chain. medium run of 120 equates to about ~$56

should take about 3-4 hours of soldering to fully assemble.

Simple single layer breakout board for VQFN20 (4x4x0.5mm) ICs, providing a breadboard compatible module using 2.54mm (0.1") pin headers. Originally developed to carry low-power harvesters BQ25504, BQ25505 or BQ25570 from Texas Instruments.

The purpose of this board is to allow you to connect any small-profile microcontroller dev board to it, and then tiny jumper wires to be able to get the cable arrangement in any configuration you want onto surface mount pads, to which you would solder a ribbon connector. Moreover, the white-marked pins are to be used for GND, as you typically would have several things connected to ground when prototyping.
