LM399 voltage reference board

Memory module for the Radio Shack M100 using through hole components. This is more in keeping with the build of the M100.

Assembly Tips

To simplify the construction the following assembly order is recommended:

• U2 is inserted from the bottom. It also has to be soldered from the same side as the chip. The excess pins on the top side can either be trimmed off or bent over - make sure they do not touch.
• The CTS 2180 ETAME IC pins are then soldered on to the board. The easiest method is to use an empty IC socket on the M100 to make sure they are the correct length.
• U1 is the last part to be placed on the board.

How to use the IC Pins (CTS 2180)

The suggested pins used for inserting the module into the M100 IC socket are similar to IC pins and should not cause any problems with the socket. The pins are used in a slightly different way to the usual method shown in their datasheet, they are normally used for mounting SIL boards vertically via their edge.

1. Cut a strip of pins to the required length, 14 pins per side in this case. Leave on the top and bottom rails.
2. Snip the pins off close to the bottom rail trying to keep them the same length.
3. With one row of holes aligned with the socket insert the pins from the top through the PCB holes into the socket pins. Make sure the pins are firmly pressed into the socket. This will give the required length of pins for the socket. Repeat for the other side of the module.
4. Solder the pins on the top of the PCB. Once all the pins are soldered the PCB can be removed from the socket.
5. Snap off the top rail (it will breakaway) and snip off the pin heads close to the top of PCB to leave a clean surface on the top of the board. The pin tops can be reheated to provide a better finish if desired.

Battery S.O.C. to Gauge Driver

Part 2 of 2: This is the required extension board for use with Quantum Entanglement GWAAMC Aid v1.0 for Arduino UNO-type MCUs. The circuit function of this board is to reduce the resistance step size and, of course, total resistance of the MCP4262-502 by paralleling 26 of them together except for their pin 9s, which are not used at all. For connecting into the main board underneath SHLD3 connected by .5mm pins trimmed to length when solder cools. The solder of those pin connections will need to be very low profile workmanship. Full backside Kapton tape is advised to ensure insulation from main board and from SHLD3.

Order in 2oz copper to reduce risk of ENIG pads delaminating from the double-tinning required in ENIG.
