Redesign of the breakout board for ST Microelectronics' VL6180X proximity sensor for breadboarding with Teensy and Arduino. VIN is between 3 and 5.5 V. Sensor uses time of flight to detect absolute distances independent of surface reflectance up to 25 cm away. Can be used to recognize hand gestures for sophisticated touchless micro-controlling. Small package, low cost, and low power usage makes integrating into existing projects, or use as a Teensy 3.1 or Arduino Pro Mini add-on board very attractive. In fact, VIN and GND can be supplied via Teensy GPIO pins by digitalWrite(HIGH) and digitalWrite(LOW) since total current draw is always less than 25 mA for this sensor. Replaced voltage regulator with TI TLV70728, reduced size of passives to 0402, and significantly improved layout. Shortened traces to bypass capacitors and added thermal path for voltage regulator.

This driver can run all of the normal attiny13a firmware and has all of the performance of the bigger FET drivers.

Now you can have your cake and eat it too: use the same firmware and features that the big drivers use; have super-low resistance; and have a single-sided board for more battery clearance and less chance of shorting.

A bigger version of its little brother, the MTN-10DD. This PCB can be sanded or ground down to 10mm if needed.

Rev.A (NOTES): It’s a 5V charger powered by 2x AA cells! I use this to charge my USB devices or power low power prototypes. The Linear LT1302 Boost IC limits the current to 600 mA. So the charge rate will be moderate. You can think of this board as the SMD version of the popular Mintyboost, due to the similarity of design. I’ve also added some testpoints to aid hacking/debugging. A thorough testing has yet to be completed. So be cautious as the battery heats up while charging. Use of fresh quality AA is the way to go. Pls feel free to email if you have issues or ideas to improve it. My next goal for this board is (a) to get rid of the SMD caps (for ease of soldering), and (b) increase the current limit. Thanks!
