The LP Mini is an Arduino Pro Mini compatible development board for low power applications. Besides using a less power-hungry voltage regulator, it features a real time clock for waking up its ATmega328 and a mosfet to turn external devices on and off. With a sleep current of only 2.8 µA, the LP Mini is ideal for data logging over extended periods of time.

connects a rj11 6p4c socket to a 4 wire jst xh female header. The pins of the jst header are not through hole, but they must be soldered flat on the board : so the flat ribbon cable on the rj11 side and the wires on the jst side are lined up

A Buffered USBtiny AVR Programmer

This is essentially just a clone of the Adafruit buffered USBTiny programmer. Uses an ATTiny2313 AVR chip controlling the programming. I used two thru-hole zeners on the USB connection because I had those specific zener diodes on hand, otherwise I would have used surface mount components. Same is true for most of the through-hole components.

Detect if your toilet tank has not shut off when it should have.

Teensy 3.5/6 Micro SD adapter V0.2

Warning make sure to order with the .8mm width option.

Why bother using huge standard size SD cards with a small Micro SD socket? Mostly for testing the SD library compatibility ancient SD cards (which are mostly the large size) on Teensy 3.5 & 3.6.

Who knows, maybe someone else will find this useful for some off-beat application?

The SD socket is Digikey part number HR845CT-ND.

Recommended potentiometer value: 50K

Pot is mounted on the side with the timer IC.

Countdown Clock Supporting Multiple Nixie Tube Display

A USB “keyboard” with just the Media keys. Really, you can program it for any keys you want, but I built it for the media keys my keyboard doesn’t have.

• Buttons are PCB mount Cherry MX switches, of your favorite color. I like Browns
• You’ll probably also want some key caps. This kit includes several options for media keys.
• The rotary encoder is also a pretty common part, but here’s an example.
• Microcontroller is an SparkFun Pro Micro
• The socket is a 24 pin “wide” socket, with the pins bent out so they can be soldered surface mount. It’s easier with the cheaper sockets rather than the really nice machined pin sockets.
• Buttons are pretty standard SMD 6x3x4.3mm buttons, for example.
• Passives are all standard 1206 bits, as marked on the board. Nothing is critical, 5% resistors and 10% caps are fine. Use your cheap crap here, not your good 1% components.
  • I’m realizing I didn’t label the bypass caps next to the WS2812Bs. They’re all .1uF, like all the other caps on the board.
• The LEDs in the Cherries and immediately on either side of the rotary encoder are standard 3mm LEDs of your favorite color.
• The RGB LEDs on the “controls” side of the board are WS2812B (The Adafruit link provided are SK6812, but they’re compatible.)
• The board is sized to fit in my favorite cheap plastic project case. Having said that, I think I’m going to make a laser cut wooden panel to sandwich the PCB with stand-offs. I’ll post a link here when I’ve done something.
