An STM32F1 and RFM22b based radio link that is compatible with Sparky2, Freedom and RevoMini as well as for TauLink to TauLink. Code support added to TauLabs here. For a a writeup on the hardware see my blog post here.

Can be used for both telemetry to the flight controller and as a PPM stream relay.

Inspired by (and code compatible with) the PipXtreme modem designed by Pip.

First Prototype

Simple voltage regulator circuit to be used with a 1117 device and act as a linear BEC for an RC system.

BOM:

• One 1117 model surface mounted low drop voltage regulator (I.e TLV1117 with a 5V output voltage), SOT-223

• Two 10uF Tantalum 6032 size surface mount capacitors, ~25V max voltage

The backside has an area without solder mask if you wish to attach a small heatsink. The drill holes help transfer the heat.

• One 1085 model low drop voltage regulator (I.e LD1085 with a 5V output voltage), TO-220

• Two 10uF Tantalum surface mount capacitors, ~25V max voltage

The backside has no solder mask so you can attach a heat sink as this device will get pretty warm on higher amperages. There are some decent 16x16mm heat sinks that can be bought through Ebay if one wishes.

HDC1000 Breakout Board.

Breakout board for RN4020 Bluetooth Low Energy module. Also room for a Skyworks 5V charge pump regulator (which went obsolete a week after I made this board).

TEST BOARD FOR DP

ATSAM4S DevBoard rev 2.0

Circuit board for variable output foam cutter using either a “short” 24" or “long” 48" Nichrome Wire.

Uses a SPST switch and a 5K Pot to adjust the power output. The SPST switch bypasses the 5 Ohm resistance when using the longer 48" length of Nichrome wire.

When using the shorter 24" wire the switch directs the current through the 5 Ohm resistance to make up for the drop in resistance of the shorter Nichrome Wire.

Minimum BOM: Transformer, 25.2 VAC, 2 Amps TRIAC 400V 6A TO220 Heat Sink 5K linear Pot 10 ohm resistors, 10 watt, 2 required in parallel to make 5 ohm, 20 watt resistance 470 ohm, 1 watt resistor SPST Switches, 2 required (1 main power on, other is long/short nichrome wire switch) 1A fuse & fuse holder 2 Banana Plugs terminals or similar Nichrome Wire Enclosure

Bluetooth board for the nRF8001 chip. Small board layout. With this chip antenna, the line-of-sight range is easily over 5 meters. Easy to solder connecting wires to the pads on the side. By John Gyorffy

LM75 brd

An op-amp powered laser receiver using a PIN photodiode with digital output.

The first op-amp stage amplifies the output of the diode and the second stage compares the amplified signal to an adjustable value, so as to get a digital output.

Power distribution board for KISS ESCs I designed and used in my Seeing Spark frame. This has voltage and current monitoring built in, as well as a 5V switching BEC.

Note: you should cut the enable pin off the switching regulator. It is not tolerant of high voltages

The switching regulator is a TPS560200 and the current monitor is a ZXCT1009.
