A RGB and audio amp for your PC Engine and friends (Core Grafx, Turbo Grafx and whatnot). Mega Drive 2 compatible video plug, RGB SCART cable should have 75Ohm resistors (and preferably also 220uF caps) which the cables should have already. Audio is also amplified a little to get higher volume, as it is a bit low from the expansion port.

• U1 3x23 Pin 2.54mm pitch header. Samtec SSQ-123-02-T-T-RA, SSW-123-02-T-T-RA (or -F-T-RA versions). As such only the left 2x3 pins and the right 3x3 pins are connected, thus any combination of plugs that covers those are adequate. 3xSSW-102-02-T-T-RA should thus also be good, or 2xSSW-103-02-T-T-RA. Note that Samtecs portfolio is huge, and there are many combinations of plugs that will work as long as they have 2.54 mm/0.100" pitch, are triple row and right angle.
• U3 MINI-DIN-9PIN (I used MDC-209 from tme.eu, but MD-90S from Mouser should be just as good)
• C1,C2,C3,C4 0.1uF 0805 MLCC SMD capacitor
• J1 1x02 Pin 2.54mm pitch connector (not necessary if you dont wanna disable the filter)
• R1,R3,R4,R5,R6,R11,R12 10K 0805 SMD resistor
• U2 THS7374 video amp
• C6,C7 2.2uF 0805 MLCC SMD capacitor
• C10,C11 1uF 0805 MLCC SMD capacitor
• R7,R8 1M 0805 SMD resistor
• R9,R10 2K7 0805 SMD resistor
• U4 TS922A opamp SOIC-8
• C5 10uF 0805 MLCC SMD capacitor
• C8,C9 10nF Film capacitor THT L7.2mm, W2.5mm, P5.00mm
• C12,C13 10uF electrolytic SMD capacitor 5x5.3
• R2 75R 0805 SMD resistor

Capacitors should be rated for 16V or higher (lower should also work, no voltages should exceed the 5V).

I recommend to 3D print one of these brackets to provide a mechanical stabilization of the card when used in PC Engine or Core Grafx: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3245238 I don’t have a TG16 to measure the port and make a similar for that.

RX POE board

The PCB offers the option to connect a consolized NeoGeo MVS with impedance matching RGB and Sync signals to a regular TV.

If the CMVS is connected to a TV by using a SCART cable (e.g.) no additonal parts (capacitors, resistors) are needed inside the SCART plug.

If the 5V output of the PCB is connected to SCART pin 16 (RGB switching) an additional 180 ohm resitor is needed.

Jumper J1: The THS7374 has four SD-video filters (used for /CSYNC, R, G and B).

All four filters can be bypassed by using jumper J1. close J1: internal filters are NOT bypassed leave J1 open: internal filters are bypassed

It is not possible to set the four SD-video (THS7374) low pass filters individually!

Normally, you don’t need a LPF inside your MVS output. There are just a few capture cards out there who don’t have a anti aliasing filter for is ADC inputs. There you have to have the LPF turned on.

On analog devices a LPF is not needed. On professional upscaling solutions like the Framemeister and OSSC you have an anti aliasing filter prior to its ADC circuits. This means you can leave the filters of the THS7374 off, too.

A schematic with values for components is available here. This circuit is based on the work of Chu Moy, originally posted on HeadWize. That page has since disappeared from the internet, but here is a link to the page on The Wayback Machine for some added context.

Note the board accommodates C2(R|L)1 and C2(R|L)2 to allow using 0.1uF and 0.02uF capacitors in parallel, but the above 0.12uF caps can be used in the positions marked C2R1 and C2L1, omitting C2R2 and C2L2.

My completed build went into a Hammond 1590BBK (546-1590B-BK) - the RCAs will just fit on the short side of the box and leaves plenty of room for the switches up front and wiring up the PCB. A larger enclosure would make assembly much easier. Here are templates that can be used for drilling holes in the enclosure: Front Panel Switch Layout & Rear Panel RCA Layout. Note that the gray circles encompass the largest dimension of the square switch body and the largest dimension of the nut used to secure the RCA jacks. You should measure the components to select an appropriate drill size for the actual hole needed to mount the switches and jacks.

I used some heavy-duty double sided adhesive foam to secure the board in the box and some 7N silver plated OCC copper wire from eBay for hooking everything up.
