16mm pitch power distribution board for positronic dragonfly04 connectors

A replacement button board for 2000-2006 Honda Insight instrument clusters. The frequently-used stock buttons tend to break and stop working, making it no longer possible to use the trip meters or reset the maintenance light once it comes on.

You need two boards per cluster, and OSHPark sells them in threes, so you’re golden. You’ll have to file off the tabs left by the manufacturing process to ensure a proper fit in the cluster. Make sure you get standard board thickness (1.6mm), not 0.8mm!

This board should fit any 6.2x6.2mm j-lead tactile switch, but is intended specifically for C&K’s KSC4 line. The CTS 222K line is also directly compatible.

I’m using the KSC403J50SHLFG because it meets the below requirements and was in stock at the time of submitting this. Less ideal but acceptable alternatives are C&K KSC401J50SHLFS or CTS 222KJVAAR.

You’ll need to take the wire harness off the stock boards. The pins are close enough together that this is easy to do by adding a bunch of solder and heating all three pins with your iron at once, then pulling the harness out.

Tact requirements/nice-to-haves:

• Top of the actuator must be no more than 6.5mm off the board (stock buttons are 5mm tall, for reference)

• For longest life, the button should be dust/waterproof (IP65-68)

• The tact should ideally have a silicone actuator, so when you’re pressing the buttons, you’re not accidentally putting undue stress on them. It also feels nicer.

• Actuation force should be around 1.6N/160gf (a pretty standard value), this feels like a bit more than stock. I tested a 2.25N button and it was a little too much, in my opinion.

• The tact should have a minimum current less than or equal to 500uA (the cluster uses a 10k pullup to 5V). This isn’t critical, but you will technically get fewer cycles out of the button if you have less than the minimum current going through it since oxidation can build up. This shouldn’t realistically be an issue - if your tact is rated for 1 million cycles and you get 10% of that, you could press the button 10 times a day and it’d still last almost 30 years.

Lets you replace the dpad in your GBC or GBA with a 3DS circle pad! You can also solder different joysticks directly if you’re not using a circle pad.

This project utilizes small ATtiny10 mcu to work with APDS-9930 ambient light (AL) and proximity I2C sensor. This is used for automatic “smart” light in a drawer. Once the drawer are open the APDS-9930 will notice proximity change and trigger a preset interrupt and MCU will come from sleep to check if AL level are below set (i.e. it’s dark around). If the set condition for AL level will be met, it will enable HIGH level on PB3 pin. Which is connected to a MOSFET or any other switch to enable LED light.

Reset shares same PB3 pin so it must be disabled via fuses. You will have to apply +12V to PB3/RESET pin to reprogram attiny10 after flashing RSTDISBL fuse.

The PB2 port are used as INT0 for sensor interrupts to wake MCU from sleep on proximity change event.

Building

Fetch the latest trunk:

Then tweak some settings in autolight.h if required. They are commented. After that do a:

make && make flash && make fuse.

:warning: After you do a make fuse step, you won’t be able to program MCU again without applying +12V to RESET pin (make sure it’s not connected to your programmer hardware :warning:

Alternatively you can use pre-built binaries with the default settings from releases section.

Connecting

PB0 ↔ SDA<br /> PB1 ↔ SCL<br /> PB2 ↔ INT<br />

PB3 are the module digital output, with logic LOW when light should be turned off and HIGH when it should be on. Suited for connecting to an N-channel FET driving the LED light.

Please be aware that the APDS-9930 module requires 2.5 – 3.6 V for it’s operation on Vdd+Vbatt (IR LED power). I recommend to use a 3.3V LDO for powering both MCU & APDS-9930.

Minimal breakout board for Silicon Labs SI705x/SI702x/Si7006 I2C temperature / temperature + humidity sensors.

This board does not includes any sort of voltage regulator. Make sure to supply correct Vcc (1.9 to 3.6 V) for this board. Connecting directly to 5V MCU (like Arduino without 3.3 V voltage regulators) will burn this sensor. This is a minimal circuit from “Typical Application Circuit” section from the datasheet.

Parts list (BOM):

R1-R2: Resistor, 10 k, ±5%, 1/16 W, 0603 C1: Capacitor, 0.1 μF, 16 V, X7R, 0603 U1: Si705x/702x/7006 sensor, DFN6.

Tested to work with Si7051 high accuracy temperature sensor, reading data with Arduino.
