A replacement blade controller for lightsaber blades from Galaxy’s Edge. Firmware and documentation about this project can be found on the project’s github repository.

The links provided in the BOM below are only examples of components that would work. They are unaffiliated and not an endorsement of any specific component provider.

It is possible to reuse the transistors and SOT-23 LDO off a stock blade controller with this PCB.

It is also fine to use a 1 kOhm resistor at R8 instead of 10 kOhm if you wish to simplify things a bit.

  • U2: 3.3V Voltage Regulator, SOT-23 - AP2138N-3.3TRG1 or XC6206P332MR-G
  • U3: 3.3V Voltage Regulator, DFN6 - LD39200PU33R
  • C1, C7: 330uF electrolytic, 2.5mm lead spacing
  • C2, C3: 1uF ceramic, 0402
  • C4: 0.1uF ceramic, 0402
  • C5, C6: 10uF ceramic, 0402
  • L1: >=3.3uH inductor rated 1A+, 0805 - LQM21PN3R3NGRD or LQM21PN3R3MGRD
  • Q1-Q4: PNP rated 500mA+, SOT-23 - SS8550 or compatible
  • Q5-Q7: N-channel MOSFET rated 1A+, SOT-23 - BSH105 or DMG2302UK or SI2302CDS
  • R1-R7: 1 kOhms, 0402
