Test jig designed to test an assembled Ruthsarian Blade Controller. The board is designed to test the assembled board upside down with the BB image on the controller facing up, away from the test jig.

• 3x 1.3mm diameter, 16mm long pogo pin
• 7x 0.68mm diameter, 16mm long pogo pin
• 1x 10 position, 2.54mm pitch header
• 4x 1 position, 2.54mm pitch male header

Suggestion for assembly is to add 1 male header pin to each corner. Then place a second board over the first, aligning it over the pins. Insert pogo pins through both boards to keep them aligned. Solder pogo pins to top board and then solder corner pins to top board. This process takes up two boards, which is not necessary, but assembly and stability will be greatly improved.

NOTE: this is version 4.1 H and is different from version 4.1 L. The two versions are similar except they use different LDOs for the LEDs (U2).

It is possible to reuse the transistors and SOT-23 LDO of a stock blade controller with this PCB.

This circuit provides a means to cycle the power on a Galaxy’s Edge droid (especially BB-units) to wake them up after they go to sleep (from 5 minutes of inactivity) by briefly tilting the droid upside down.

In testing this circuit, when breaking the power connection to the droid, draws under 1mA of current. When power is connected to the droid, there is virtually no current drawn by this circuit. When the droid is asleep current draw is under 100uA. You could comfortably leave your droid on with this circuit in place and tilt it to wake it up when you want to use it without significant loss of battery life over months.

PCB silkscreen identifies the location of each component. The PCB can be mounted inside the droid wherever convenient as long as the switch is positioned such that it is open (off) when the droid is upright, but closed (on) when the droid is tilted upside down.

This PCB is for custom personality chips used in R-series and BB-series droids from Galaxy’s Edge. It utilizes only through-hole components. The memory chip should be a 25-series SPI flash memory chip. Both resistors (R33, R99) are 10Kohm. Capacitor C42 is 0.1uF and C44 should be 10pf.
