The board is for use in a short vertical dipole (SVD) antenna for Amateur Radio Direction Finding (ARDF), with a simple matching circuit at its center feedpoint. It is designed to operate between 3.5 MHz and 3.6 MHz while providing a 50-ohm resistive load with an SWR below 1.5:1. The coax feedline runs up the center of the bottom antenna element and is shielded by it. The result is a “rope antenna” about 6.1 meters (20 feet) in length. Simply suspend the far end of the antenna six meters above the ground, plug the other end into an 80m transmitter, and the fox setup is complete.
A snap-off wire end insulator is included as part of the board design.
