Amstrad CPC Universal Floppy Disk Adapter. Connect the DDI-1 Amstrad disk interface to I1 and I2, or the DDI-3 or DDI-4 using either I1 or I2, and connect up to 3 disk drives using standard unmodified 1-to-1 34 pin PC floppy ribbon cables. There is a DIP switch for setting the READY signal and selecting SIDE1 (for 3.5" floppies), and, most importantly, each drive can set for drive A or B, using any of 4 combinations: A <- SEL0, B <-SEL0, A <-SEL1, B<-SEL1, where SEL0 and SEL1 are the drive 0 and drive 1 SELect lines from the floppy disk controller. Hence, no more cable mods and no ABBA switches required. Moreover, the interal jumpering of the drive (whether it listens to SEL0 or SEL1) doesn’t matter any longer.
