*Same as T3.2 BB R4 but with the text “cutout” added to the areas to be cut out to create castellations. Also we have hand-edited the the .GBS and .GTS files (solder mask). The flash D codes have been hand-edited to reduce their size to approximately 4 mils (in x and y) larger than their copper layer counterparts (the large mounting hole D code was not changed). This size reduction should result in a 2 mil annular ring around the copper pad (assuming perfect registration). This fixes a production issue we saw where all copper was not getting covered by soldermask as it should be.
The purpose of this board is to adapt the Teensy 3.2 additional SMT pad contacts to standard 0.600" wide DIP28 footprint for easier plugging into a socket. Additional function pins and importantly RESET are brought out to the DIP28 pattern This board has been extensively tested with now a few hundred in use 24/7. Big thanks to the original designer of the R3 breakout board We have also designed and built a production fixture to hold Teensy and this board in alignment with the headers while soldering. Ask us if interested in that. Recommended header strips 0.025" square posts are AdamTech PH1-40-UA, these are breakaway strips of 40. We use the leftover pins in our assembly fixture so there is no waste. This is the most economical way to buy headers AFAIK. *Recommended socket strips for 0.025" square posts are DigiKey 929974-01-36-ND. The strip of high-quality 36 breakaway sockets leaves 12 pins: use two of those leftovers to make another strip of 24, so there is no waste.
