For the iLap transponders. The idea is that this gives you more freedom to mount the IR LED while tucking away the main unit inside the body of your aircraft or ground vehicle. This protects the costly main unit from ejections or impact in crashes.
This PCB is mainly to provide a firm, flat surface for adhesives. This can easily be done by soldering the LED to wires.
