Do you often need to program and then test your ATmega328P? If so, here’s a really simple little board that uses a ZIF socket to quickly swap in/out a 28pin ATmega328p. This was designed to work with the sparkfun USB pocket AVR programmer (sparkfun.com part number PGM-09825). Simply plug the 6-pin ribbon connector from the programmer into the shrouded connector on the board and you’re good to go. If you need to rapidly swap between programming your ATmega328 and putting it into action, take a look at my ATmega328p extension board. It allows you to use a ZIF socket on your breadboard to prevent bent pins when moving your IC around.
