IR receiver and charlieplexed LED ring around volume control. Used in https://github.com/hzeller/DerKnopf but can be useful for other things as well. 6-wire charlieplexing for 30 LEDs, lined up exactly with 1/32 turn for 32-detent encoder; two spacing.
