I have no idea if this will work. This is for my own personal use. I used the LED series wizard at http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz to design the schematic.

I used a “manual” version of this and it did work fine. I’ve decided to try and make a PCB version so I can clip it to my laptop bezel. Uses a USB cable for power.

I included pads for the data portion of the cable just as a mechanical assist. They are not connected to anything.

This design uses the Xilinx XC9536XL, which has 5V tolerant inputs essential for operation with the Commodore 64.

As opposed to skoe’s design, the required CASRAM delay is implemented in Verilog instead of using additional components.
