This board is useful to couple one IDE cable to another (as an extender), or to attach a CompactFlash-to-IDE adapter with a female connection to the end of an IDE cable. There is a jumper that can be used to “force on” UDMA capability; the IDE controller will think an 80-conductor cable is attached when the jumper installed. Note that one IDE pin header has to be installed on the TOP side of the board, and the other header has to be installed on the BOTTOM side of the board.

This board is useful to couple one IDE cable to another (as an extender), or to attach a CompactFlash-to-IDE adapter with a female connection to the end of an IDE cable. There is a jumper that can be used to “force on” UDMA capability; the IDE controller will think an 80-conductor cable is attached when the jumper installed. Note that one IDE pin header has to be installed on the TOP side of the board, and the other header has to be installed on the BOTTOM side of the board.
