This pcb was developed from a screen shot of the OSH Park whale shark found at the bottom of their webpages.

Progressing to develop experimental software tool chains and custom conversion scripts for funneling various 2D graphic artwork (like a screenshot, Photoshop or .eps, .dwg, dxf, stl, stp, png or .svg etc. files) formats into KiCAD as the final pcb processor.

Working within KiCAD & OSH Park’s software envelope and pcb fabrication shop cnc boundaries, the end goal is a method which a person may utilize one or many aides to help build final pcb’s unrestricted in board outline, graphics and copper trace forms other than “square” “90” or “45” in KiCAD while remaining Gerber compliant.

With the aid of pcbnew and a few other apps, Mountaindog’s proof of his methodology to more or less manually build the final .kicad_pcb script to apply true arced edge cuts, silks, masks and copper traces to pcb’s from DXF files.

Resulting .kicad_pcb layers of interest containing such arcs and curves can then be successfully uploaded to OSH Park or plotted as Gerbers for other pcb fab houses.
