To use with 7-segments … or leds… or anything. Allow you to PWM 15 leds, or 5 RGB led, and more if you chain multiple boards. Perfect for FastLed on Arduino (works the same as a WS2812b led strip).
Component:
- WS2811
- 104/100nf 0603 capacitor (left of WS2811)
- 101/100ohm 0805 resistor…

- 101/100ohm 0805 resistor (above WS2811)
- 330/33ohm 0805 resistor (above capacitor)
- Appropriate 0805 resistor for each led. Use this calculator with CMN_A voltage and your led’s voltage+current.
Connection:
- VDD=5v
- GND=Ground
- CMN_A=External power for leds. Can be 12v, 5v, 3v, or anything. All 4 pins are connected together, and to nothing else. Take 1 for input, 1 to your leds anode pin and 1 for the next board. Named CMN_A to remind you to buy “Common Anode” RGB led only :)
- 0R,0G,0B,1R…=Cathode pin of your led. If CMN_A isn’t VDD, make sure CMN_A’s ground and VDD’s ground are connected.
