This board is used to interface CAN bus signals in cars.

Commonly used when using modern EV (Electric Vehicle) parts in older vehicles.

Built around the Teensy 3.6 Microcontroller module, it provides:

2 CAN 2.0 ports. Solder jumper turns on termination.

6 Inputs: 12V nominal Analog or digital, protected from over and negative voltages.

6 Outputs: General purpose Open Drain might hold 2 amps. Ground trace limited.

2 Outputs: Pulse, low current Open Drain with pullup for driving tachometer and speedometer.

1 Fuel Gauge Output. 6 bits of Open Drain switched parallel 1206 Resistors to drive Gas gauge.

1 ISO-SPI for Linear Technology 6804/6811/6813 series BMS modules.

1 Coin Cell holder in case you want to use the RTC.

1 I2C header for running a small display or whatever.

1 Daughter board area 30x70 std perf board, (interferes with I2C)

Made to fit in a standard Polycase enclosure.

Possible future upgrades:

2 Automotive relays for general switching of the 4 high current (16A) terminals.

Daughter board with op amps and resistor arrays for sensing pack voltages, enabling contactor precharge and ground fault isolation testing of 400V systems.

Made with KiCad 5.0.1 on OSX

When first opening the schematic file, you may have to “recover footprints.”

I saved and included the google spreadsheet as pdf since it dropped sheets for ods.
