Corrected LambdaSpeak 3.0

A MX4-compatible CPC expansion board backplane for the Amstrad / Schneider CPC. Unlike similar expansion boards (e.g., MotherX4), LambdaBoard supports edge connector-based hardware (DD1, DDI3, DKtronics speech synthesizer, SSA-1 speech synthesizer, …)

The PCB tracks are extra-thick, for good signal and power conductivity.

Using a 3 to 4 inch long connection cable to the CPC’s expansion port, I am able to use XMem or Piotr’s 4 MB memory expansion in slot 1 and have the DDI3 connected at the edge at the same time on my CPC 464, without any problems.

Notice that memory expansions such as XMem etc. are extremely picky regarding cable length and signal timings. If you had problem (like I) using XMem and other hardware simultaneously and reliably, then this might be the solution for you.

This version supports the GI SPO256-AL2 retro speech chip, in addition to the TextToSpeech click board. The SPO256-AL2 makes LambdaSpeak a 100% compatible and authentic reimplementation of the original DK'tronics and Amstrad SSA-1 speech synthesizers. The LambdaSpeak firmware hence supports 2 more modes for SPO256-based DK'tronics and SSA-1 speech synthesis, in addition to the Epson S1V30120-based SSA-1 and DK'tronics emulations. LambdaSpeak 1.95 is a next-generation speech synthesizer for the Amstrad (Schneider) CPC computers (CPC 464, CPC 664, CPC 6128). More details about the project can be found on the project GitHub page.

A Mother4X Compatible Expansion Port Connector for the Amstrad / Schneider CPC 464.

Use an angled 2x50 Card Edge Connector for CPC 464 expansion port connector, and a 2x25 Shrouded IDC Box header (male), or a 2x25 Female Pin Header to plug in a M4X compatible CPC expansion card. Notice that the expansion port is all pass through, so you don’t lose the port.
